This site is built on other people’s generosity: photographers who share their work under open licenses, and the volunteers who map the island. Thank you.

Support the island

If Catalina has given you a good day, here’s how to give something back.

  • Catalina Island Conservancy

The nonprofit that protects 88% of the island: its wildlands, the island fox, the bison herd, native plants and the trails. Members also get discounts on its campsites.

Every time you visit

  • Hike with the Conservancy’s free permit and stay on the trails.
  • Give bison plenty of room, and never feed the foxes or any wildlife.
  • Take only photos in the marine reserves at Lover’s Cove and Casino Point.
  • Pack out your trash, and skip glass on the beaches.
  • Book, eat and shop with island businesses directly when you can.
